Our Journey
We’ve come a long way in the last few years. Before a global pandemic and stay-at-home orders, we were popping up on a table under a tent at your favourite markets, events, and shops around the Niagara region. Since we had a little more time on our hands and our heads in the clouds, we took the time to turn our dreams into our reality.
Groundswell - on wheels
In order to serve you better coffee in more places, we dreamt up a plan to put this thing on wheels. With the help from our friends at Nomad Custom Trailers, that’s exactly what we did!
Fall 2020
In the fall of last year we started sketching out what a trailer could look like for us and how it would serve you best. We started with a pencil and paper and drew it up the way we dreamt it.

Winter 2020
In November we decided to take the plunge and start building our trailer! We’re coffee people though, not construction people. So we enlisted the help of our friends at Nomad Custom Trailers to bring this things to life. They build custom trailers from the ground up to our specs.

Winter 2021
We’re in the throes of it now. Construction is well underway and this big beauty is taking shape. Last time we went up to visit Nomad we saw walls, openings for doors and windows, electrical being installed, and we even placed cardboard cutouts of all of our equipment. Construction is continuing full steam ahead and we can barely contain our excitement!
Spring 2021
We’ve started bringing equipment and gear to be installed in the trailer as Nomad finishes construction and begins installations. The first thing to be installed was our generator! It’s not too glamorous, but it’ll power this whole thing. Countertops are going in, siding is being fixed, and it won’t be long before she’s purring like a kitten.
April 2021
Like very few things over the last 13 months, our trailer build went according to schedule and was delivered right on time! Construction is complete and installation is underway as we hook up some odds and ends here in our driveway and then stock the shelves. We don’t know exactly when we’ll be hitting the road, as that will depend entirely on the state of our province. But until then we’ll be working hard to be ready!
Since April 2021
We’ve hit the road and haven’t looked back. Our dreams have come true, and putting Groundswell on wheels was one of the best decisions we’ve ever made. We won’t stop dreaming though, so come for a visit and see what we’re up to!
